Village and Nafpaktos

hey everyone~
so i am officially a blog slacker; internet access is going to be hard to access on a daily basis for awhile. updates!! we arrived in Greece friday around 5pm Greek time (10am American time) after two flights that never seemed to end. we had a layover in London; call me lame, but i love their accents!!! we (my dad, Liz, and i) walked around Athens a little bit friday night and then left for Neohori (my dad's village) Saturday morning. 6 hour drive in the back of a cab on windy dirt roads with hardly any guardrails....interesting, believe me. my dad's friend Thomas "Tommy-Boy" to me, was the best taxi driver ever! he barely spoke any English, but it was such an experience trying to communicate with him. loved it! the village is...well, a village. the residents there still live like it's 100 years ago. we were lucky that the house we stayed in had running water and electric! my Greek is improving, but i obviously am still struggling with a lot of things. my American way of speech is changing too. i caught myself speaking with an accent on the phone to my mom the other day! lol. I have tons of pictures to upload, but they have to wait until i get wireless for my own computer. We visited a monastery on Monday; that was quite an experience. it is now Wednesday and we are in Nafpaktos visiting my great aunt and uncle. it's so cute with little cafes and shops lining the beach!! I must go because i am getting charged to use a public computer. miss you and love you all!!

  2. Sounds like you're having fun. Being abroad is such a good experience for learning and growing as a person. I'm sure you'll benefit a lot form it. When does your actual program start?
