Grapes & Galore
So as predicted, I am a blog slacker. However, I'm finally updating it! So Sunday, September 20, 2009, Christina, Me, Tabitha, Whitney, and Micah took a day trip to a vineyard and a winery. Basically, we saw how the grapes were prepared and how the wine is actually made. We wanted to grape stomp so bad, but there are machines that do that now =(. Well, we took the trip with Demetris, a man who we got in touch with through an employee at The Athens Centre. We took a taxi to meet Demetris, but we got dropped off on the wrong side of the highway, so we stood there on the side of the road for about 20 minutes looking like those travelers you would only see in California movies. Well, all we had to do was walk across the bridge and met him there. The five of us got to pick grapes, were interviewed for a tv special on vineyards, and had plenty of pictures taken. It was hard work, but so much fun! Demetris took us out for seafood afterwards, and although I am not a huge seafood person, the octopus was amazing! A cockroach crawled into our apartment Sunday night, and it was hilarious watching Tabitha and Jessie try and kill it. It just would not die! Eventually, a table leg on top of it along with a shoe completed the job. Wednesday was a trip to Mount Olympeieon and Kerameiko-a huge cemetery. What an exhausting morning. Thursday was the theatre class's trip to the Theatre of Dionysus where we got to study the parts of a theatre while actually sitting in an ancient one. Amazing! After class, four of us girls decided to go shopping. Well, I don't think I've ever shopped so long in my life: practically 4.5 hours between shops on Ymittou (a street) and Syntagma (a square). I bought a super cute dress at this place called The Hippie Shop and a casual comfy cardigan and a doubly pack of simple t-shirts at H&M. I finally bought my mom some Olive Oil Soap shes been wanting =) Oh yeah! There was a pair of awesome hemp flip flops at The Hippie Shop which I totally was going to get..however, there were pot plant designs on them. So much for them. Anyway, I am going to stay with
some cousins this weekend..yeah for a free yet
fun-fille
