When pigs fly...they crash.

So, where do I begin? Well, approximately half the students in this program got sick, some worse than others. Two of the professors and their daughter got swine flu, three of the boys got really sick, and now three of the girls (including me) are sick, although one is recovering. I feel so much better which is good. I started to not feel right last Wednesday; it all started with a headache which progressed overnight into sweating and chills, body aches, blurred vision and dizziness, loss of appetite, and sore throat/coughing. No fun whatsoever. I stayed with my aunt for a few hours on Saturday, and she gave me so much tea, about 7-8 cups of spearmint tea. I thought it would help, but it didn't do too much except taste good. The only thing that sounds appetizing to me (even now, although I feel better) is fruit and granola bars. Even peanut butter tastes terrible; what a crime!! My taste buds better work right again soon...I've been craving a gyro for over a week! I had a nice little visit to a private Greek hospital last night. If I had went to a regular one, I would have waited there for hours until I could have been seen, so I chose to pay more and go to a private one. It was really nice. The doctor said that all my symptoms matched swine flu, but I would need tests to confirm it; I denied. So what if it's confirmed? Whoop-de-do. I'm practically over it anyway. The nice thing is that although I had to pay up front, my insurance company will reimburse me when I get back to the states; I just have to mail in the translated paperwork. Anyway, different news. My roommates and I woke up Saturday morning only to discover that our electricity was out (it was only out for a few hours thank goodness). Stupid construction workers outside.... Also, Friday night was interesting. My roommates and I got bored, so we decided to dress up like superheroes, our own kind of course. I was Super Fly, Sara was Super Gangster, Tabitha was Super Tidy, and Jessie was Super Awesome. Our outfits were total improvisations, but classic =)

  1. I was wondering what the heck the story was behind those costume pics. Weird...
